The builder prompt

One prompt, about 550 words. Paste it into Claude Code and the whole thing is built from scratch.

Make it yours

Five short steps: what was built, how to change the widgets, add your own icon, and publish it.

Publish what you make and get a demo page like this one, with your name on the badge.

What it builds

A native macOS menu bar app in SwiftUI: an icon in the status bar, a popover with widgets you choose (a countdown, your next meeting, CPU and memory, a URL health check), launch at login and a global hotkey. No Xcode project to fight; the kit builds a signed .app with one script. Needs macOS 14 or later and the Xcode command line tools.

  • SwiftUI popover with four starter widgets
  • Launch at login and a global hotkey
  • Settings window for your options
  • Builds with one script, no Xcode UI
  • Ad-hoc signed .app plus a .dmg script
  • Under 2 MB, no dependencies

Built clean on an M2. You do need the command line tools, which the README says up front. The calendar widget from step 3 is the one I actually use.
